Week #1
This is a quick sketch to understand the anatomy of a skull since I am unfamiliar with creating skulls.
Week #2
I used markers to lay an idea of color combinations I would like to use. The mapping of colors gives me an idea of emotion. However, the process of crocheting in rows of color might change the color placement.
Week #3
This is the begging of the head and I am working out from the center to make a large circle. Eventually, I'll stop increasing rows and decrease the amount of stitches.
Week #4
This is the finished "Melon Head" sculpture. This was a rather interesting project because it combined the previous project of the facial features on the bush with a 3D oval-oblong shape. I feel this project is unfinished because it is missing more 3D elements such as ears or yarn hair. Potentially, I could add a neck so it is not just a floating head. Teacher goal: oblong shape, 3D. Student goal: Emotions.
